In 2009, Angelika and Maris became INWA (International Nordic Walking Federation) accredited Nordic Walking instructors.

The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) was formed in 2000 as the Global Governing Body for Nordic Walking to develop the standards and education material by setting out how Nordic Walking should be taught and practiced.

INWA’s education committee focuses on the development and guarantee of quality of education and certification programs for instructors of different levels. Nordic Walking Australia is the sole representative of INWA in Australia.

All Nordic Walking Australia instructors are INWA certified, guaranteeing the highest quality of instruction and knowledge.

Angelika and Maris were trained by Hans Wrang. Hans is Australia's National Trainer and runs Nordic Walking Australia

And when we see people running, we can't help thinking that they also could be getting great benefits with less stress and impact on their ankles, knees and hips. We have rarely seen a runner with a smile on their face. Most seem to be grimacing . . .

As for people stuck inside in gyms on treadmills and other cardio equipment, how could you compare that with striding out, with Nordic Walking poles, breathing the fresh air in the worlds biggest gym, the great outdoors.
